Bob Niece to be final
presenter in Spring Seminar Series
Bob Niece of Midwest Tackle
Service will share tips on keeping care of reels in the last
seminar for March.
March 24 - The final seminar in the series
will feature Bob Neice, reel technician from Midwest
Tackle Service in Wichita, teaching Basic Reel Maintenance. Neice
began repairing rods and reels as a hobby and turned that hobby
into a full-time business in 1985. He is certified by Zebco as
a reel technician. Neice has attended the Zebco Training Seminars
in Tulsa one week a year for ten years and has been an instructor
for five of those years. He is a member of the Rodcrafter's Association
and the Fishing Tackler Retailer University. Bring your questions!
March 3 - The lead off seminar in the series
was presented by Rusty LaNier. He discussed deep water
structure fishing and fishing for suspended fish. He grew up
fishing at Milford and in farm ponds in the Flint Hills. He fished
his first tournament nearly 25 years ago and since then has won
a number of awards.
He finished in the top
25 for the season in the Red Man Plains Division circuit. He
has also fished U.S. Bass, Ambassadors, Great Plains circuits
in addition to club tournaments and state Federation events.
He has served as president
of Southwinds Bass Club for five years and has been the club's
Angler of the Year for as many years. He is also the angler that
got Deb Zeiner started in her tournament fishing when they fished
the Governor's Cup at El Dorado years ago in 30-degree weather.
March 10 - The second seminar in Zeiner's
March series was presented by Randy Stovall, popular Wichita
professional bass angler. He has fished professional bass tournaments
since 1981. He has 25 first place finishes and 80 top ten finishes
to his credit. Stovall's topic was "Spring Bass Techniques".
He has been featured for 15 years at the Kansas Sport, Boat and
Travel Show and is an exciting, fascinating speaker. He shared
his tips with a room full of participants.
March 17 brought Mike Cook, licensed
guide and owner of Four Lake Guides, to the podium. Cook taught
about spring channel cat techniques. He is certified in Red Cross
First Aid and CPR and by the Kansas Boater Education program
and is a member of the Cheney Lake Association and the Wichita
Convention and Visitors Bureau.
Registration for the
seminars is $5.00
and will include coffee, juice and doughnuts for breakfast. Breakfast
will be from 7:30 a.m. until 8:00 a.m.. The seminars will begin
at 8:00 and last approximately two hours. Reservations and payment
are required in advance to reserve seating.
