      23rd Annual "Walk With
      Wildlife" is June 9  
      GREAT PLAINS NATURE CENTER SET TO GO WILD
       
      May 17, 2007 - Interested in getting an
      up-close, personal look at all kinds of Kansas wildlife? Want
      to hold a live snake? Do you want to discover the differences
      between hawks and owls?  
      Anyone interested in learning more about wildlife
      is welcome at the 23rd Annual Walk with Wildlife at the Great
      Plains Nature Center (GNPC), 29th and Woodlawn in Wichita. The
      event will be held Saturday, June 9, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.  
      Sponsored by Spirit AeroSystems, the event will
      provide unique opportunities for visitors to see and learn about
      dozens of species of Kansas wildlife. More than 50 different
      kinds of native Kansas animals will be on display around the
      Chisholm Creek Park Nature Trail. Volunteers will be on hand
      to lead informative discussions about the mammals, birds, reptiles,
      amphibians, fish, and insects exhibited at each station.  
      Visitors can also view the interactive displays
      and dioramas in the GPNC?s Koch Habitat Hall or watch a fascinating
      video in the Coleman Auditorium. The Owl's Nest Gift Shop is
      also a destination for those interested in a wide selection of
      nature-related merchandise.  
      Walk With Wildlife is a great activity for scouts,
      school groups, photographers, and people of all ages. The trail
      is handicapped-accessible and strollers are permitted. Food concessions
      will be available. Admission to the event is $2 per person. For
