      JUNE EVENT FOCUSES ON DEVELOPING
      WOMEN'S OUTDOOR SKILLS 
      Scott Lake's Camp Lakeside set for
      "Women's Outdoor Adventures" June 8-10  
      May 17, 2007 - The best way to learn a new
      skill is hands-on instruction, under the guidance of an expert.
      That's the premise for "Women's Outdoor Adventures,"
      a weekend workshop planned at Scott State Park.  
      Sponsored by the Santa Fe Trail Resource Conservation
      & Development Area Council, the workshop is designed for
      women 21 years of age or older who want to learn or improve their
      outdoor skills. A variety of skills are on the menu of classes
      available, including the following:  
      canoeing;  
      archery;  
      outdoor art;  
      overnight camping;  
      mountain biking;  
      shooting sports;  
      survival skills;  
      navigation basics;  
      boating;  
      scuba diving;  
      outdoor photography; and  
      self defense.  
      The workshop fee of $150 (add $15 if registration
      is postmarked after May 24) covers meals, lodging, all programs
      and instruction, and a T-shirt. Lodging at Camp Lakeside is dormitory-style.
      Air-conditioned sleeping rooms accommodate up to 20 people per
      room. Participants should bring their own bedding or sleeping
      bags, as well as towels and wash cloths
