Wittman & Walker win Kansas
Best of Bass Team Trail Melvern Tournament
April 19, 2009 - With rain overnight Friday and most
of the morning Saturday, Wayne Wittman of Topeka, Ks and John
Walker of McFarland, Ks take off last but come in firstst. Bringing
in 5 fish at 13.20 pounds they took home $775 and $60 for 2nd
big bass. They also took home 2 custom painted DD22's with the
place and logo. Wayne is sponsored by Tightwad Bait and Tackle.
John is sponsored by America's Express Co., Tightwad Bait and
Tackle, and Tightlines Lure Co.
Bringing in the only other limit of 5 was the team
of Jeff Lane of Mayetta, Ks and Randy Norton of Meriden, Ks.
They brought 12.89 pounds to the scales and 1st big bass of 4.30
pounds to place 2nd. For their effort they took home $475 and
$100 for big bass and a custom painted DD22 with Big Bass and
logo. Jeff is sponsored by PTMN INC. of Topeka and Randy is sponsored
by R&S Maintenance of Topeka.
Coming in 3rd with 4 fish at 10.47 pounds was Bob
Saathoff of Topeka, Ks and Shawn Saathoff of Lawrence, Ks. Bob
and Shawn took home $250.
Finishing 4th with 4 fish and 9.58 pounds was Jim
Potts of Hesston, Ks and Hollis Hensley of Peculiar, Mo.
