Gale Brown Takes first place
at Milford in AFT Division 66 in central Kansas
May 9, 2009 Gale Brown from Cassoday, KS
is one step closer to the ABA National Championship with
a 1st place win and $500 in the American Fishing Tour bass tournament
held on Milford Lake this past weekend. Gale's 5 bass limit
weighed in at 12.33 pounds.
Second place went to Terry Taylor with a weight
of 10.81 pounds, and third place was Terrance Knueppel with a
weight of 9.16 pounds. Big bass and $110 was awarded to Gale
Brown for catching a 3.85 pound large mouth.
These anglers are acquiring valuable points to
insure their birth in division's two-day champion and the American
Fishing Tour National Championship that will be held this fall.
Their points are also being used to determine the divisional
angler of the year. The top angler by points earned in this division
will represent the division in the Angler of the Year final round.
The top five anglers were:
1. Gale Brown -12.33lbs
2. Terry Taylor - 10.81lbs
3. Terrance Knueppel - 9.16lbs
4. Doug Smith - 8.83lbs
5. Mark Kirkpatrick - 7.55lbs
Conditions: Water clarity was 4 to 5 feet,
the wind was out of the northwest at 20 plus and let up as the
day went on.
Winning Strategy: All of Gale's fish were
caught on Senkos and creature baits.
Next Divisional Tournament: Division 66's
next tournament will be June 7, 2009 on El Dorado Lake at Bluestem
#1.
